Join Ms. Pat, who will guide children ages 4-8 through a tour of the Presidio Museum designed specifically for them and demonstrate where cochineal comes from (the red-dye that was an important trade commodity for early settlers). The adventure will also include a "daily life" hands-on activity, which could include: drawing with natural dyes; pot gardening; laundry the "old fashioned" way; making clay bead bracelets; making wool bracelets; tortilla making; colonial-period games. The program ends with a coloring activity and a story. The entire program lasts approximately one hour and participants are encouraged to stay and enjoy the Museum as long as they like after the program, which is included in admission. Participants are encouraged to register ahead of time to insure they have a spot at www.TucsonPresidio.com.
