Civil War in the Southwest

Más Información

Now happening in November! Arizona State Parks presents a historical re-enactment of Arizona's only engagement of the American Civil War, the Battle of Picacho Pass, or the Battle of Picacho Peak, on April 15, 1862. It was fought between a Union cavalry patrol from California and a party of Confederate pickets from Tucson, and marks the westernmost battle of the American Civil War. Every year hundreds of spectators descend on Picacho Peak State Park to watch the re-enactments which include living history demonstrations interpreting military lifestyle of the soldiers in the southwest during the 1860s.
