Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum stays open after sundown on Saturday evenings all summer long as the nocturnal creatures of The Living Desert come to life. Look for Museum Docents and Jr. Docents interpreting live animals, celestial desert skies, fluorescent minerals, animal eye shine, Sonoran Desert insects, night sounds, bats, kissing bugs, scorpions, and/or rattlesnakes. On August 19 - Teacher Appreciation Night - Rock out with geology, bone up on biology, and take off with astronomy as the new school term begins. The science of nature is on full display with mineral and rock activities, live animal presentations and great views of the night sky or monsoon weather. Pre K-12 teachers, in deep appreciation for their important work, will get in free this evening. Please bring ID to show that you're a teacher.
