The second edition of Film Fest Tucson is set to take place in downtown Tucson at the Scottish Rite Cathedral (listed on the National Register of Historic Places). The festival will feature 30 different films, both narratives and documentatires in short and feature-length format. A new addition to the festival this year is the inclusion of two free outdoor screenings (October 20: The Incredible Shrinking Man; October 21: The Outsiders). Special events include a new film and television pitch competition called "Desert Pitch" that features a cash prize, a filmmaker panel, and presentation of a 1914 silent film with live piano accompaniment; this screening will include the debut of a recently discovered "lost" film entitled "The Bisbee Screen Test" from 1939. The full schedule for the festival is on FilmFestTucson.com.
