Browse unique, handmade glass gifts while seeing glass art-making in action at Sonoran Glass School in Downtown Tucson. Attendees have the chance to make ornaments and holiday-themed glass art (classes run $10 to $50) and see a narrated glassblowing demonstration. Proceeds from this festive event support the nonprofit Sonoran Glass School (SGS) and its programs. Glass Art Ornaments, Jewelry, Housewares and Cacti - Glass artist instructors have been working on a wide range of glass art pieces for this event since mid-October, including a large selection of special hand-blown ornaments including glass cups with the Star of David sandblasted on the outside. Sandblasting is a process that etches designs into glass. One-of-a-kind menorahs have also been made in the glass fusing studio, known as the Warm Shop. New to this year's ornaments are snow covered saguaros, penguins, chili peppers and more. Make-Your-Own Glass Art Experiences - All three SGS studios will be offering short, experiential classes in the glass arts. The furnace glassblowing studio known as the Hot Shop will be offering ornament making experiences, where guests can choose the colors and design elements for their very own holiday ornament for $50.
