Just in time for the holidays, the largest light and lantern festival in North America will make its Tucson debut at Kino Sports Complex, beginning Nov. 8. Lights of the World Tucson features over 11 exhibits and 75 lantern displays showcasing different cultures and landmarks across the world with over 6 million LED lights. Discount tickets available online and at local ACE Hardware and Food City stores through Nov. 7. The Lights of the World festival runs every Tuesday through Sunday through Jan. 2, from 5 to 10 p.m. in the east parking lot of Kino Sports Complex. General admission includes the lantern exhibits and displays, over 20 carnival rides and an acrobat show Nov. 8 to Dec. 2 or a sea lion show Dec. 4 to Jan. 2. Carnival games, arts and crafts and food vendors available for an added cost. General admission tickets cost $24.99 online or at the gate. However, advance discount tickets available for $19.99 at local ACE Hardware and Food City stores until Nov. 7. Kids ages 3 and under get in free. A separate $6 parking fee will apply to all vehicles and all proceeds will benefit local charities. Families planning to attend the festival can access the event parking lot from Ajo and Forgeus.
