National Public Gardens Day takes place on the Friday before Mother's Day to raise awareness of the important role our country's botanical gardens and arboreta play in promoting environmental stewardship, plant and water conservation, green spaces, and education in communities nationwide. In Tucson, this is an especially good day to visit Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Reid Park Rose Garden, Tohono Chul, Tucson Botanical Gardens , Yume Japanese Gardens, Native Seed/SEARCH, and the University of Arizona Campus Arboretum.
