Escape the summer heat and enjoy a beautiful night under the stars at Flying Leap Vineyards & Distillery in Elgin, AZ. Chuck Dugan, former Kitt Peak Guide and local astronomer will take you on a guided tour of the summer night sky through 8" and 11" telescopes. Your ticket includes dinner provided by Chef Adam Puckle at The Café in Sonoita and a glass of wine from our tasting bar. With the moon nearly at first quarter phase (almost half a moon) it is the best time to observe the moon and offers the perfect conditions to view the beautiful sights of our solar system and galaxy. We will be viewing the Omega Centauraus, the most massive Globular Cluster in the sky. According to Dugan, "It is truly spectacular, and very few people in the U.S. get to see it-ever." Among other sights we will be able to view Jupiter with its bands and all four Galilean Moons, Mercury at half phase, the Sombrero Galaxy, the Ring Nebula and other Globulars.
