We all know we are the third rock from the Sun, yet appreciating the vast distances between objects in the universe can be difficult. Appropriate for all ages, this talk will discuss the size and scale of our solar system and the Milky Way galaxy. Come see many spectacular images of deep space objects photographed through Mount Lemmon telescopes, and learn about current astrophysical research ongong in the Santa Catalina Mountains. This is fourth of the five-part Summerhaven Speaker Series, presented by UA Science-Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter, July-November 2018, at the Chuck Bowden Mount Lemmon Community Center (also known as Summerhaven Community Center). The talks are free and open to the public and take place on the last Thursday of every month, July-November 2018.
